Introducing ferrets to children
Do not introduce your ferrets to your children while you are still nip training. To avoid the obvious bite as this will only make the job of introducing the two harder because it will simply install in your child the fear of being bitten by the ferret.
Remember also that Kits have a tendency to bite when being playful.

Badger Cull
Bovine TB.
The problem of Bovine TB in cattle has risen rapidly and there is evidence to show that if the disease was to be controlled in badgers it would reduce the disease in cattle.
Badgers have been a protected species since The 1973 Badger Act and are also protected under European legislation.
Up to 30% of badgers in some areas in the South West and in the West Midlands are infected with Bovine TB.
Infected Badgers excrete vast numbers of infectious terbercle bacilla in the agricultural environment.
Badgers suffer a very painful and protracted death due to Bovine TB and a cull of infected badgers would actually be more humane than leaving them to die from this disease (which the opponents to a cull would have by just using vaccinations).
Effects.
Bovine TB is tested by a skin test if ther animal reacts to the test, it have then tested positive to Bovine TB and is sent to be slaughtered.
The disease doesn't show any symptoms until it is in its advanced stages and symptons can be any of the following:
As well Badgers Bovine TB can be passed on by deer.
Ferret owners who work there animals in infected areas and dog walkers who also use infected areas should be careful as both can contract the disease.
What Will It Cost?
In 1991 there were 655 cattle that tested positive to Bovine Tb, in 2010 more than 28,500 tested positive with a 25,000 of them being slaughtered to the cost of 90 million pounds in compensation payments.
If the disease is left to run its course Bovine TB will cost 1 Billion pounds of taxpayers money in the next ten years.

There are two areas of England where badger cull trials are to be held under very strict licencing laws. The government have not descided the two areas for the cull yet. The idea of this cull in to eradicate the disease and not the badger.
The government hope to reduce Bovine TB by 16%.
Caroline Spellman said "There is no alternative but to approve culls, in an attempt to reduce the number of cattle contracting Bovine TB". Farming and Vetinary associations are also supporting the cull.
Oponents to the cull reject the Government claimes that the culls are science-led wanting vaccinatios and said it would incur policing and legal bills of millions of pounds as protestors target the cull sites and the plans are challenged in court.
There have been previous trial that show a cull cuts Bovine TB.
Vaccinations.
The national Trust and the Food and Environment Research Agency (FERA) are both Running seperate Vaccination trials.
The national Trust's programme is being run at their own 20square Km Killerton Estate near Exeter.
The badgers will be caught using live traps, injected with licenced BCG vaccine then marked (so they dont get the vaccine twice) and then released.
In feild trials of the vaccine reduced Bovine TB by 73.8%.
John Kittow the tenant farmer of the Killerton Estate who has been barred from selling cattle in six out of the last ten years due to Bovine TB said "A cull is still needed to as part of a package of measures to bring Bovine TB under control".
FERA are using ultra-muscular injections of BCG in a 100km square area near Stroud in Gloustershire.
The aim is to maintain FERA capability to vaccinate badgers and give training to people applying for vaccine licences.

Napier Gun Cleaner
This comes in a fairly large can so it last for quite a while as you you don't need to use a lot.It has a rust inhibitor which is always great, with more to help fight the monster that is rust you really cant complain. It has a short straw to help spray directly into your barrel. It didn't all go through the barrel the first time I used it as I was a bit too overenthusiastic and pushed right down. Once I rectified this and pressed lighter it all went down the barrel. If it doesn't go straight done the barrel its nothing to complain about this magic can of cleaner will clean any part of your rifle including the wooden or tactical stock.
I would recommend this to anyone with a gun it really is great stuff and an essential piece for any cleaning kit.

Fuzzie Buddies Ferret Formula
I love this stuff it is fantastic, if I open up my ferret court, the ferrets are out and running around but if I put y ferret box there, they jump straight because they have associated the ferret box with ferret formula.
I use it together with a dog training clicker and now they also associate the noise of the clicker with the ferret formula.
I use it when clipping their claws and for trips to the vets, i have used it at bath time. It great for distracting ferret while you get on with the task at hand.
An extra plus to the ferret formula is that it is oil based so it helps to lubricate the throat which helps with bringing up furballs.
It also helps keep a nice coat.

Desiderius Erasmus - Hater of Hunting.
Desiderius Erasmus was born in Rotterdam on 28th of October 1466 and he died on the 12th of July 1536. He is also known as Erasmus of Rotterdam.
His main interests were Christian Philosophy and Renaissance Humanism.
Desiderius also influenced some pretty important people Lord Chancellor Sir Thomas More and Martin Luther to name just a few.( not the Martin Luther (King) we all know, this Martin Luther was a german priest and an iconic figure of the protestant reformation).
After researching this man, I found it very hard to beleive that this well respected and highly educated person could say something as uneducated as the following:

Right im going to break this quote down into three sections to get my point across.
"They take unbeleivable pleasure in the hideous blast of the hunting horn" The hunting horn is used in orchestras as in instrument and is also refered to as the Furst-pless-horn. It was also once used by the composer Bach. Its original use was to give out clear signals over the noise of the hunt.
"Baying of the hounds" A pack of hounds will bay to alert the other dogs in the pack and their Master to the fact that they have found their prey. I would also presume that it is a tactic imbedded deep in the dogs genes to bay as an attempt to strike fear into their prey causing it to slip up or make a mistake.
"Dogs dung smells sweet as cinnamon to them" No matter what is wrong with your sence of smell, dogs dung is dogs dung. No one in their right mind will ever tell you it smells as sweet as cinnamon. Dogs dung only smells like one thing S***.

Parker Hale Cleaning Rod
All in all i am very impressed with this the .22 cleaning rod fits nicely in my rifles barrel making cleaning easier.
Im going to rate this product a five out of five. im going to put an extra picture up so you can see the handle but i do seem to be having a few problems with my camera but if you bare with me as soon as i can i will put better quality pictures up.

VFG Cleaning Pellets.
The idea of these pellets is that every time you go for a shoot, be it plinking targets in the garden or an all-day hunting session you put one of these little white pellets in the breach of your rifle and fire it, simple as that, on its way it picks up any lead particals or dirt and takes them out the end with it.
For a full clean you need to soak two of them in gun oil and put them through the barrel the same way as before. Then keep firing the pellets through until they come out white clean and oil free. If you do not own a pellet trap do not use these you will not find them to no how clean they are coming out.
I was very impressed with the idea of the VFG cleaning pellets and they come in a handy little box to that fits neatly inside the pocket on my rifle slip.
Upon using the pellets how ever i was far less than impressed, I felt they were not intended to be used with my rifle, although it is not stated in the instruction not to use these with a break barrel springer, but when firing it sounded very similar if not the same as dry firing a rifle ( something which can be very damaging to the internal parts of the rifle. I do not intend to damage my pride and joy so I have not used them since.
On the other hand though i feel it is a very clever idea, one that with development could revolutionize gun cleaning. I imagine these would work wonders for cleaning pre charged pneumatic rifles.
I'm going to give item a one out five and would really like the chance to review this item again if it gets developed further.
